Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files, and similar technologies such as local storage, that a website saves in your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads — for example that you are signed in, or that you have already made a cookie choice.

• Keeping you securely signed in to your student account between visits.
• Remembering your cookie preferences so we do not ask again on every page.
• Understanding, in aggregate, which lessons and features students use so we can improve them.
• Remembering study preferences such as focus mode, timers and recently viewed lessons.

We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not sell any information collected through them.

DrugDesk stores almost nothing in traditional cookies. Nearly all of our storage is browser local storage, which stays on your device and is only read by DrugDesk.

Cookies we set

• sidebar:state — remembers whether the app sidebar is open or collapsed. No personal data, expires after 7 days.

Local storage we set

• Your sign-in session token (essential) — keeps you logged in between visits.
• drugdesk.cookie-consent.v1 (essential) — your cookie choices, so we do not ask again.
• drugdesk.cache-owner (essential) — the account that owns the cached study data, so nothing carries over on a shared device.
• drugdesk.visitor-key.v1 (analytics, consent only) — a random identifier with no name or email attached, used to count page views. Written only if you allow analytics.
• Study caches and preferences (functional) — theme and appearance, study year, study log, flashcards, revision plan and ticks, your cached profile, tutor notes, OSCE favourites and generated stations, focus-mode notes and bookmarks, arena sound setting, and small “tip already seen” or level-celebration markers.

We do not use session storage, and there are no advertising, Google, Meta or TikTok tracking cookies or pixels anywhere on DrugDesk. Signing out, or signing in as a different account, clears the cached study data listed above. Cookies set by our payment provider on its own checkout pages, or by our hosting/CDN provider for security, are controlled by those providers and not by DrugDesk.

Non-essential cookies stay switched off until you allow them. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button below, via “Cookie preferences” in the footer, or from Settings → Legal and your data if you are signed in. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of DrugDesk may not work correctly without essential cookies.

Analytics records collected with your consent are aggregate page views only, and are deleted automatically 24 months after they are recorded.
